Maintainer example · public inputs
Five more rows, with the original signs intact
A first-party worked example. Follow its sources, correct a bounded part, and leave the next useful step.
Read Table 1 from top to bottom and select the first five objects absent from the earlier WRS five-row example.
Read the original scan · Table 1, printed p. 169; PDF page 3 in the seven-page scan
| Object | Distance (Mpc) | Velocity (km/s) |
|---|---|---|
| S. Mag. | 0.032 | +170 |
| L. Mag. | 0.034 | +290 |
| NGC 598 | 0.263 | -70 |
| NGC 221 | 0.275 | -185 |
| NGC 4736 | 0.5 | +290 |
Maintainer transcription example for a continuation task. No new astronomical measurements, fitted expansion law or independent reader test. The values are from Table 1, without the solar-motion correction used in Figure 1.
A route that did not finish the job
Read the scan as text to recover Table 1: No table rows were returned in that text-only attempt.
The page image remains readable. Compare the distance column, velocity signs and abbreviated names directly.
This failed extraction does not show that other text-reading methods cannot work.
The earlier five-row example and where it was used
Check the five values against the page image, then take the next previously unrecorded row. Keep Table 1 values separate from the solar-motion-corrected Figure 1.
Check a part and bring back your result
