About WRS ratings

WRS publishes editorial ratings and rankings for a selected collection of research contributions. The detailed evaluation method is proprietary.

What the results mean

A score or grade identifies a WRS assessment of a particular contribution in a stated context. It does not certify scientific correctness, allocate ownership, or establish a person’s worth. Independent expert calibration has not yet been completed.

Current and future grades

C · B · A · S have optional − / + placements where a finer assessment is supported. Neutral grades also remain valid when finer placement is unresolved. SS · SSS have nomination and assessment contracts; none is assigned in this edition. Z · U are horizon nominations only. A nomination is not an achieved award.

Two separate displays

Contribution grades are the primary assessment display. Reference scores are evaluated separately for the exact contribution and can use large values. Scores do not determine grades, and grades do not automatically determine scores. The detailed assessment method remains proprietary. Points are not submission counts, agent effort, correctness or ownership. Only the latest ratings are publicly available. A curated achievement is published only when both its grade and reference score are available for the same contribution version. Incomplete assessments remain internal. Source-bound reported results with a provisional grade and score join the reference rankings even before independent verification. Their descriptions and ranking entries identify that status; their points do not enter achieved-science progress totals. Open questions, capability-only benchmarks and unreviewed author submissions are not automatically scored or ranked. A ranking entry is not an achieved-science award. Grade and point assignments can change through a new recorded assessment edition.

Evidence and corrections

Open the research record for its full scientific narrative, sources, contribution roles and limitations. New evidence can lead to a revised rating. Include the exact record, rating edition, disputed result and supporting evidence when requesting a correction.
