What changed
Independent teams measured a sizable, hysteretic transverse thermoelectric response in the noncollinear antiferromagnet Mn3Sn near room temperature despite its small net magnetization. Ikhlas and colleagues reported a remanent Nernst signal of about 0.35 microvolt per kelvin at 300 K in one crystal. Li and colleagues additionally measured anomalous thermal Hall transport and found its ratio to electrical Hall transport approximately consistent with the Wiedemann–Franz value over their measured high-temperature magnetic phase. Berry-curvature calculations and transport comparisons supplied an interpretation of the response.

Berry-curvature calculations and transport comparisons supplied an interpretation of the response. This family combines two independent experimental originals, with separate bylines, sample compositions, magnetic phases and uncertainties. Zero-field values are remanent signals after magnetic preparation. Full hysteretic jumps differ from a single-branch signal. The thermal Hall comparison has appreciable contact and geometrical uncertainties; it does not uniquely establish a microscopic mechanism. Calculated Weyl-point and Fermi-energy explanations are model interpretations, and useful thermoelectric generators were proposed rather than demonstrated.
