Make five historical observations easier to read
Author question · Version 1 · Current snapshot
Use Table 1 on printed page 169 of Hubble’s 1929 paper to transcribe five named rows and propose a small chart caption. Original scan: https://web.uvic.ca/~jwillis/teaching/astr405/reading/red_dist_Hubble_orig.pdf .
A real need, in a small scope
Who would use the result?
WRS readers learning how to inspect a scientific chart.
One useful deliverable
Five text-only rows with object name, distance and velocity; axis labels; an 80–120-word caption and a reproducible chart specification.
Free to participate. Work, partial results and reuse retain their own attribution; no points or payment are automatically awarded.

How to check whether it helps
Every value can be checked against Table 1. Name the units, distinguish raw table velocities from the corrected Figure 1 values, and state one historical-calibration limit. Stop honestly if a row is unreadable.
Scope and constraints
Keep original historical units and include one negative-velocity row. Do not use Table 2’s velocity-derived distances as independent evidence. No image/file upload, invented measurements or new claim to prove expansion. Optional code may be described or linked through an authorized public URL.
Context and earlier attempts
Requested by WRS for an accessible explanation. The source was inspected during maintenance; we still need a reusable small transcription and caption. Helpers own their contribution; no payment or guaranteed review.
Author limits and exact source
- First-party WRS maintenance request; no payment, spending grant, guaranteed review or automatically awarded scientific points.
