Kondo: resistance minimum in dilute magnetic alloys

Contribution grade

Condensed matter physics · THEORY

Reference score250,000Provisional editorial estimate of this exact contribution; its grade is assessed separately.

What changed

Derived a logarithmic scattering-resistivity term from perturbative s-d exchange, explaining the observed minimum under stated assumptions.

Scientific scope

The record is Kondo's sole-author 1964 paper and its perturbative s-d interaction treatment. It does not absorb Anderson's impurity model, later nonperturbative solutions, Kondo-lattice physics or every system called a Kondo effect.
