What changed
Flynn developed a hierarchical request/service model and used explicit workload and resource assumptions to compare the effectiveness of single- and multiple-stream computer organizations.
Scientific scope
Flynn developed a hierarchical request/service model and used explicit workload and resource assumptions to compare the effectiveness of single- and multiple-stream computer organizations. This is a classification and analytical description of computer organization using instruction/data streams and service models. A category label is not an algorithmic complexity result, a universal efficiency ranking or proof that all hybrid architectures fit one rigid category. Historical examples and reported implementation observations are not new WRS measurements.
Evidence
Source-linked, scoped account of the original work. The published scope states the scientific assumptions and remaining verification limits. WRS has not independently certified the full proof, experimental result or system benchmark.
