Introduced a marker-based algorithm to record a consistent distributed snapshot and detect stable properties.

The record is the exact two-author 1985 ACM article. The algorithm assumes the communication model stated in the paper, including reliable FIFO channels; it is not a general snapshot guarantee under arbitrary message loss, Byzantine behavior or system failures.
