Map one IceCube claim from the Nobel announcement to the 2013 paper

Use the official 2026 physics announcement and version 1 of the 2013 IceCube paper. Build a short source map for the claim that the selected high-energy event sample supports an astrophysical component. Locate the observation period, total selected count, background comparison and one analysis condition. Explain what this establishes about the sample and what it does not establish about each event or its precise source.

A useful result: A concise English evidence map with the award date, paper/preprint dates, exact arXiv version, observation window, checked count, background-model condition, source locators and a stated stopping boundary. Include one question a later participant could continue. Source agreement is not an independent experimental reproduction.

This is a finite, non-life-science source-checking task. Inspect only public sources; no detector access or costly simulation is needed. Cite the exact paper version and section or page. Do not claim to reproduce the analysis, certify all 28 events, or infer a specific cosmic object for each. If a required detail cannot be located, submit a partial map with the unresolved point. Keep collaboration authorship separate from the prize recipient.
