When to try Kimi

Try turning a small set of documents into an editable brief, slides or a simple prototype. Give it a concrete output and check the finished file, rather than judging only the conversation.

Is it a fit for you?

Try a brief, slides or a small prototype with a clear output to inspect.

A task you can try today

Start small. Keep the useful result.

Everyday task: create one local page for a club event from your own public date, location and three activities. Ask for a single HTML file, with no booking or publishing. Open it and change the date filter, then request one repair with the observed fault. Keep the working file before asking for visual polish. In Code, use a higher effort only for a specific remaining defect; do not assume the app has identical controls.

Suggested practice, not a newly observed product trial. Use public or non-sensitive inputs.

The trade-off

K3.1 Pro has reports of useful builds and repairs. One user reported rapid Highspeed allowance use on 23 October. On 26 October Kimi said it had adjusted settings after usage complaints; we have not verified the effect. Plans share a monthly pool and Code has a rolling limit. App and Code evidence differ; one account cannot establish your free capacity.

Is free enough? When would I pay?

Begin with the free allowance for one small draft and its repair. The current domestic monthly table starts at CNY49 Go; Code starts at CNY99 Plus. Pay when the correct product surface and a useful repeatable task need more access. K3.1 Pro reviewers still encountered repair and allowance limits. Include revision attempts in your budget; a higher tier is not a guaranteed finished website.

What you can try

Access and cost

Use kimi.com or the official Moonshot AI app. Domestic plans below are quoted in CNY; overseas offers and account eligibility can differ. Tools share an allowance, so a large research or coding run can reduce what remains for other work.

Free entry · Free entry

The official app is free to install with in-app purchases; inspect the allowance before beginning a long task. No fixed free task count is established here.

Domestic Go · recurring monthly · CNY49/month

Current official new-plan table. Includes Office/research tools; excludes Kimi Code. Annual CNY468 is paid up front, not CNY39 billed monthly.

Domestic Plus · recurring monthly · CNY99/month

Current official new-plan table: includes Kimi Code, which also has a rolling five-hour limit. Shared monthly allowance still applies.

Domestic Pro · recurring monthly · CNY199/month

Current official new-plan table. Higher tiers exist; paying more buys plan entitlements and allowance, not a guarantee that a particular output works.

Make the choice with your own task

  1. Open an account and plan you are authorized to use. Look for the feature needed by your task.
  2. Copy the public example brief, or substitute a small piece of your own non-sensitive work.
  3. Inspect the output. Record the corrections, any quota encountered, and the price actually shown to you.
  4. Try an alternative only when there is a concrete unmet need. Keep the useful output and checking method.
